Have you ever watched
hacking scenes in movies and thought to yourself "Wow! What are those
green lines running and flashing on the screen?
Have you shopped on amazon
or called a cab on Uber and wondered how does that even work?
Have you visited apple.com,
youtube.com or any other website for that matter and thought "How can I
make one of these?"
If you answered "YES!"
to any of the questions above and are curious to know if it is possible for
everyone to learn to code, you've come to the right place.
Good day, everyone. I'm Rahul
Rajeevan, and I'm a full-stack web development student at Masai School.
It’s my third week at Masai School, and I'm excited to tell you about it.
I am a mechanical engineering
graduate and I have worked as an ELV consultant before coming to Masai School.
Computer Science was one of my favourite subjects in 12th grade. However, as a
mechanical engineering graduate with no prior work experience, finding a career
in coding was extremely difficult. It was then that I came across a video of a
student from a non-coding background who became a web developer in just 6
months. I did my research and decided to apply for the program by taking
their Masai School Admission Test (MSAT) (a test to check your math and
reasoning basically). I passed the MSAT and was accepted into unit 1.
Masai is a skill-building
school; rather than just giving you a "certificate" and sending
you away, they help you develop holistically. Before the classes commenced, I
assumed the curriculum would focus solely on coding, but it featured sessions
to hone your coding skills and your soft skills. The program was designed to equip the students
with the skills they need to excel academically, while simultaneously teaching
them how to use various power skills and professional etiquettes to stand out
in the workplace.
The first 2 days were dedicated
to the orientation program, which covered topics such as how everything at
Masai operates, how placements work, and what initiatives are in place to make
the learning process easier for students. I could tell from the first day that
the Masai team was passionate about what they were doing. Their mantra was "We won’t give up on you
till you give up on yourselves.".
Every day, I was given assignments, and I was evaluated
on a weekly basis. This has been quite beneficial to me because I was able to
determine how well I grasped the concepts. Whenever I had a doubt, I could
approach the student support team at Masai. The support team is one of a kind;
you'll find a whole lot of people just waiting there to solve your queries and
doubts.
I'll have my final unit 1
evaluations next week, and I can happily say that I never had any issue here at
Masai I am excited to learn more and become one of the greatest web developers
of all time.
